Brenda Lynn Morgan lives in London, Ontario, Canada and is a graduate of Centennial College, Scarborough, Ontario (Diploma Nursing; 1975); the University of Western Ontario, London (BScN; 1998) and McMaster University (MSc; 2005). Her area of thesis interest is family support during critical illness. Brenda has been a critical care nurse since 1979 and an educator since 1983. She curently works as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Critical Care Trauma Centre, Victoria Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, where she participates in the critical care medical education program, development of evidence-based practice guidelines and website development for the critical care program. A frequent guest lecturer, Brenda has also taught numerous programs, locally, nationally and internationlly. She was the author of the Study Guide for the Critical Care Nursing Certification Examination in Canada, published by the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses (out of print). Brenda is an active member of the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses (CACCN). She was national President from 1992 - 1994 and a Director on the national Board 1990-1995 and 1998-2002. Brenda was a member of the Canadian Nurses Association Certification Committee for Critical Care Nursing between 1993 - 2008. She has chaired four of CACCN's national conventions, Dynamics of Critical Care in 1991 (Toronto), 1994 (Toronto), 1999 (Ottawa) and 2002 (Niagara Fall). |
